One of the most important goals of the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary is to help educate the public about birds, as well as all the dangers that threaten them. With hundreds of permanently disabled birds taking up residency at the Sanctuary, there is no better way to learn about birds and the dangers that threaten them then by taking a guided tour of our grounds.

A guided tour of our Sanctuary is perfect for school field trips, assisted living facility outings, child birthday parties, or large family outings.

Whether you are a Florida native or a yearly visitor to our state,  there is plenty to learn and see while taking a guided tour of the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary. Listed below is just a small example of the different things you can see and learn while taking a guided tour:

  • A history of the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary including when, how, and why we were initially founded.
  • The hundreds of permanently disabled birds that reside in our pens, and the different types of injuries that initially brought them to the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary.
  • How our avian hospital staff treats and rehabilitates the countless sick and injured birds that are admitted to the Sanctuary on a daily basis, and the variety of tools used to accomplish this.
  • The most common, everyday hazards that threaten the health and well-being of wild birds, and how you can help prevent it.
  • The different types of birds found in our area and what makes them unique.
