There are several patents pending on biodegradable fishing lines and soon they should be approved for sale.  We encourage our readers and members to investigate these products to help save the lives of our marine and wildlife. The fishing lines and hooks are the main cause of injuries to our birds and cause death and impairment.  Please use these products when they become available and  inform us of your experience with them. The Sanctuary is currently researching this and will update our readers when we can recommend the best products. Meanwhile PLEASE DISPOSE OF YOUR FISHING LINES AND HOOKS PROPERLY.
